Undeterred by Trump-Era Tariff Uncertainty, Motech Reports Progress in Eastern European Market Expansion

【Tainan/Taiwan – 2025.04.10】

Taiwan-based solar energy leader Motech Industries (TWSE: 6244) remains unfazed by the fluctuating U.S. tariff policies under the Trump administration. Teaming up with Taiwan’s leading solar mounting system manufacturer King Slide (Jingxin), Motech recently ventured into Eastern Europe to participate in the Green Energy EXPO in Eastern Europe. The joint effort has yielded positive results in expanding their presence in the local market.

According to Motech’s General Manager, the exhibition not only helped reinforce relationships with existing local clients but also led to new collaborations with Taiwanese businesses operating in Eastern Europe—particularly in applications related to agriculture and transportation infrastructure.

Although Taiwan’s solar market faced a downturn last year, Motech saw solid results from its overseas operations, particularly in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Japan. As a result, exports have now surpassed domestic sales, and the company plans to continue expanding its global footprint in 2025.

At the exhibition, Motech showcased its differentiated products including color solar modules, skylight-integrated modules, flexible modules, balcony railing modules, and lightweight modules—all tailored for building-integrated and infrastructure-related solar applications. These were the highlights of their booth and have already begun shipping to European clients.

Motech emphasized that its participation in the Eastern European Green Energy EXPO, in partnership with King Slide, was a strategic move to strengthen its European market expansion. The collaboration has already delivered tangible outcomes in local market penetration.

With export sales accounting for nearly 50% of its total revenue last year, and in response to the sluggish domestic solar installation market, Motech is doubling down on innovative products aimed at net-zero buildings, highways, and airports. These efforts have begun to pay off, and the company expects its export share to increase further in 2025.
